Visited the iPad Concert class by RC, H and D. There were 11 students and we were two visitors. The students worked in pairs. They had to perform on three locations: a staircase and two halls where people pass by.
The students got iPads and small speakers with a surprisingly good sound. They had found some very funny apps. Then they played the iPads as you would play the odd instrument.
One group had a sign: Warning if you pass here your data will be recorded (or similar). Most people did not want to pass that area. But I guess that they'd use their google anyway. And that's strange.
After the performances the students gathered in the classroom, and RC, H and D had a talk with the students about what they'd learned from during the happening.
D filmed what happened, and the video should be available on YouTube soon. Participating in this event was a great experience.
During the visit I saw that some students with disabilities were allowed to follow classes. It's a very fine idea for all involved.
After lunch I visited the feminist hackathon in the Wascana room at the library. After all it is March 8th. I guess that my username is listed somewhere among the participants of the event.
